Michael Lobbe
Youth Pastor
Michael leads the OneHope youth community with a steady heart for teenagers and their families. He wants young people from both campuses to find trusted leaders, good friendships, and a space where faith can become their own.
For parents, Youth Group is designed to be easy to understand and easy to stay connected with. Parent sign-in and sign-out happens each night, and regular emails help families know what is coming up.
Ask A Question
A safe place to grow.
Friendship, fun, and faith with leaders who notice.
Youth Group is a Friday night community for students in Grades 7–12 from both OneHope campuses. It is a place where teenagers can arrive as they are, meet good friends, and find leaders who know their name and care about what is happening in their life.
Each regular night has a simple rhythm: time to hang out, games that help the room relax, supper, worship, practical Bible teaching, and small group conversation. The aim is to make faith understandable for teenagers, not abstract or out of reach.
We know the high school years can be full of pressure, change, big questions, and shifting friendships. Youth Group gives students a steady place to be encouraged, listened to, and pointed toward Jesus in a way that speaks to everyday teenage life.
Friends are always welcome. Some students have grown up around church; others are curious, unsure, or coming because someone invited them. We want Youth Group to feel safe for all of them: fun enough to walk into, honest enough to ask real questions, and grounded enough to help faith become their own.
Small groups are an important part of the night. Students spend time with peers and adult leaders who are committed to walking alongside them, praying for them, and helping them build friendships that can carry more than small talk.
Most Friday nights meet at Barrabool Hills, with occasional special nights at Moolap, local venues, camps, combined youth events, or other moments around Geelong. Families can expect clear communication about what is coming up, what students need to bring, and any changes to the usual plan.
Friday nights, in motion.
